伊藤隆敏教授記念講演会 第1回「人間の血を吸う都市型の蚊」その起源は古代エジプトに 進化の定説を覆す国際研究、蚊が媒介する凶悪な感染症の撲滅に向けた重要な一歩
Friends of UTokyo is pleased to present an online lecture/dialogue by Dr. Yuki Haba, an award-winning evolutionary biologist and currently a Leon Levy Scholar in Neuroscience at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute. Dr. Haba has already received numerous professional awards, despite completing his PhD only recently, in 2023.
This is the inaugural talk in a new lecture series created in memory of Professor Takatoshi Ito, a prominent international political scientist formerly at School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University. (https://www.friendsofutokyo.org/ja/伊藤隆敏元futi理事を悼む/) The series aims to highlight promising early-stage professionals and provide opportunities for younger generations of FUTI alumni to learn from their work, perspectives, and career experiences. It also seeks to encourage spirited dialogue, and help foster a supportive professional network. We expect the lecture/dialogue to be held annually, either in person or online.
Dr. Iwao Ojima, president of FUTI and University Distinguished Professor, Stony Brook University – State University of New York, will give an opening remark. Following Dr. Haba’s talk, there will be ample time for Q&A.
Dr. Haba’s talk will be based on his article recently published in Science. It has been reported widely in major media including Nikkei and CNN.
